What Does 45 Years of Experience Mean to
You?
Hi, my name is Tom Johnson. At Electropedic, we have been asking basically the same questions since 1964, . . . and when you've been doing the same thing for 43 years, you get pretty good at it. We have genuinely made "Your Comfort Is Everything!" our only business
allow you
to electrically stand, sit and recline at the simple touch of your finger. All
sizes, styles, heights, widths,
firmness, colors and fabrics are available. Options include full recline
(3-position), independent head and foot elevation (2-motor); heavy duty,

How to Design the Right Lift Chair for You!
General Video Preview from Golden Technologies
I.
The First question we ask you is how
tall are
you.
A chair is designed in sections; similarly,
the same way how your body bends:
|
You bend from your knee cap; seat-to-floor,
|
the knee cap to your lower back; seat depth,
|
and your seating area to the top of your head; back height. |
Consequently, you want your lift chair to be designed to fit all 3 sections of your body
When your lift-chair is reclining, you want your lift-chair to support most of your legs. If you have edema, muscle cramps, vericose veins or swelling of the legs, as much leg support as possible is recommended. Also, if you are very tall, some models come with an optional leg extension.
The largest bone in your body is your "thigh bone" or femur. The most important dimension in designing your lift chair is this dimension: Your lower back has to rest gently against the back of your lift-chair; otherwise, if your lower back misses the back of the chair, this will lead to back fatigue in a short time.

We ask you if your body has "standard" dimensions. Please let us know if you are "longer-legged" or "longer-torse" than normal.
You want to design a chair so your head has support against the back of your lift-chair. If your head extends above the top of the chair, this will lead to fatigue.
Lift-chair models are broken down to many different sizes to meet your body's dimensions. The PR-501: Very Small(5'0" and under), Small(5'0" to 5'3"), Medium (5'4" to 5'10"), Large (5'10" to 6'2") Tall (6'3" to 6'8"). You want your legs to gently rest on the floor.
II. The Second question
is what is your
weight? The measurement
of the width of your lift chair between the arms rests becomes inportant
here. You do not want the sides of your body to fit too tight againsts
the sides of the arm rests, but gently rest between them. When letting us
know your body weight, we have to get an idea on how wide to make your chair.
If you are over 375 pounds, we will also recommend the
heavy-duty 2-motor lifting models. Extra Wides: comes
in
Small
(5'0" to 5'3" - 375 lb. capability); and dual motor 500 lb. capabilities:
Medium
(5'4" to 5'10"),
Large
(5'11" to 6'2"),
Tall(6'3"
to 6'8").
We also have the PR-502 700 pound lift-chair that also features Infinite Positions.

III. The Third question(s) are to ask about your health condition. We like to ask your age, general health conditions, how many hours are you going to use your lift-chair, whether you plan to "sleep" or nap in your chair, . . .and related use questions.
If you have back problems, acid reflux, heart, breathing, circulatory, heart, or leg problems, we want you to know how the 2-position, 3-position and Infinate-position lift-chairs work.
All 2-position lift-chairs electrically
recline for comfort, reading and watching TV. 3-Position lift-chairs
recline a little further back for sleeping.
If you have circulatory problems, you
can get your feet gently above your heart level. If you have breathing,
acid reflux or heart problems you can gently recline with your back upright.
We ask you if you are planning to use your lift chair 2 hours, 4 hours, 8 hours or more a day to make sure you design a chair for all the purposes you may need it for: Sleeping, health, relaxation, . . .
If you have arthrtis, lift-chairs can also come with optional Heat and Massage - very soothing and relaxing for every body!
If you have had a stroke or have one arm or hand better than the other, we want you to know that the hand control and side pocket can be designed to go onto either side (right side standard).
If someone is incontinent, you may be interested in scotch-guard or vinyl fabrics.
We want you to be aware of the Infinate
Position Lift-Chairs for both COMFORT and Health reasons. These
infinate position lift-chairs allow you to individually
adjust your back and your legs to almost any position you wish. Every
position higher and lower can put a different weight and pressure on your
skeletal, respiratory, circulatory, muscle and nervous systems . . . your
simply stop where you are most comfortable. If you have edema, swelling
of the legs, muscle cramps or vericose veins you can get your legs way above
your heart level (the lift chair reclines to below your leg level).
If you have a bad back, you can
individually find the positions where you can relieve the strain and stress.
Whether for reading, watching TV, Breathing, Heart or PURE COMFORT,
the Infinate Postion Lift Chair is the ultimate in comfort.

Note: we also like to know general answers about your cognitive abilities. The infinate position lift chairs is a little bit more complicated tha the standard lift chairs where you can simply press up or down to get to the standing or reclining/sleeping positions.

IV. The Fourth question(s) is really a question and answer period about:
Options or Specific Styles that you may be looking for: Wall-Hugger models that only need 6" clearance from wall; Wood accent or very "old-fashion" traditional look; Luxurious Designer fabrics (the same as they use in private jets) Or, are you are looking for a more economy-type, good or the very best lift chair. The Right Side Pocket and Head Cover are usually Standard on your Lift Chair.
